Ok – if you haven’t finished shopping for Father’s Day yet, now is the time. We’ve brought you 2 amazing weeks of items that would be perfect for the brand new dad in your life – since dads are in fact, dudes, we personally don’t think he should have to suffer by carrying around an overly frilly, bright pink, plastic-covered diaper bag. You totally know the ones I’m talking about, don’t you?
Thankfully, the folks at Petunia Pickle Bottom understood the need for dad to have a rugged, functional bag that can take him, well, almost anywhere. Which is why I’d like to introduce you to our final giveaway in honor of Father’s Day – the Scout Nomad Knapsack.
Check out some of the awesome features of the Scout Nomad Knapsack:
Teak-coated cotton canvas shell exterior with wipe-able nylon interior, and black cotton straps.
Fully adjustable straps take you from backpack to messenger bag in not time flat.
Large handle at the top to grab-and-go, antique brass hardware, leather trim and red stitching throughout.
Front zippered pocket includes a cell phone and MP3 player pocket and two snap-expandable exterior bottle pockets.
The interior of the Scout Nomad Knapsack includes two bottle pockets, two organizational pockets, one large flat pocket with a snap enclosure, and a monogrammed plastic wipes case in a coordinating color.
Sounds pretty awesome, right? I couldn’t agree more.
If you’ve already entered to win the Scout Walkabout Baby Carrier and the Scout Satellite Sling and haven’t received the “congrats – you’re a winner!” email – then this is your last chance to enter to win a gift for dad this Father’s Day! We have partnered with our friends at Petunia Pickle Bottom to give this awesome bag away to one lucky Hatch reader. The contest runs from June 4th through June 12, 2012 at 11:59 pm PST – so be sure to enter using the widget below! Good luck!
Continuing our pre-Father’s Day Celebration, we wanted to introduce to you the Scout Walkabout Carriers by Petunia Pickle Bottom. If you remember last week, we discussed great diaper bags for men – and how men often get the shaft when it comes to design for the kids in their lives. We introduced you to the Scout Satellite Sling – perfect for the new dad or the soon-to-be dad in your life, and now that you’ve already got the scoop on the best diaper bags for men, we thought it was time to talk about great baby carriers for men.
The Scout Walkabout Carriers featured rugged construction, striking colors, and chiseled lines – basically dad doesn’t have to be ashamed to seen with this strapped to his chest. And of course, since father/baby bonding is an important part of the first year experience we want to make it as simple as possible. When it looks like this – how can you complain?
In anticipation of Father’s Day, we’ve joined together once again with our friends at Petunia Pickle Bottom to offer one of these awesome Scout Walkabout Carriers as a giveaway to one of our readers. Use the widget below to enter – the giveaway will run through Tuesday, June 5th. Best of luck!
Dads often (usually) get the shaft when it comes to baby products. Almost all products seem to be made with women in mind – as if we will be the only ones carrying them or taking care of the baby. The reality is that now more than ever we are seeing dad play an equal role in raising his kids – which is great. But because of that fact, we often see dads at the playground, in the mall, and in the preschool pick up line that look a bit like this…
C’mon. That’s just cruel – and the sad thing is you know you’ve seen it. Of course, it takes a very secure man to pull this off, but the fact remains that he shouldn’t have to pull it off – it’s about time that we have amazing diaper bags available that appeal to dad just as much as mom.
That’s where Petunia Pickle Bottom comes in. They might have a cute name that appeals to mom, but their awesome line of Scout Bags and baby carriers will most definitely appeal to the men in your life, and would make an amazing gift for Father’s Day.
Pictured here is the Scout Satellite Sling, one of the many “manly” options available as a gift for the new dad in your life. To celebrate Father’s all around the United States, Petunia Pickle Bottom and Design Public are teaming up to bring you 3 weeks of Father’s Day giveaways, beginning today with the Scout Satellite Sling! Would you like to win this amazing bag? Great – enter using the widget below and we will announce the winner on Monday, May 28th! If you don’t win this week be sure to stay tuned – we are giving away a Scout Walkabout Baby Carrier next week, and the Scout Nomad Knapsack the week after that – so you have lots of chances to win!
Yup, this thing is pretty neat. I could see myself donning this for a Sunday morning stroll through the West Village…Café Americano in one hand, NY Times (or something sophisticated like the Davinci Code) in the other, and my Mini-me out riding point man. Just like the picture…

"I just discovered your site yesterday (and I'm already ordering from it!) I even forwarded it on to a friend. I was giving up on finding bedding that I liked, so it's nice to know there are others out there who appreciate a mod(ern) sensibility. And your rugs are too die for!"
