Julia and Edgar Blazona have combined experience of working for Williams-Sonoma, Target, Pottery Barn, and West Elm before branching out with their own brand, TrueModern. You’ll love their stylish, comfortable, pet and kid-friendly sofas, chairs and ottomans, and they’ll be a big part of your home furniture for decades to come as they are not only classic but also very durable. Available in several styles and all the different configurations and sizes you’ll need, they offer comfortable and chic seating for everyone in the family.

Take a look at TrueModern’s corner pieces, chaises and sofas to see which configuration will work for your room. Then study the colors to see which one you will love for years to come. This is the TrueModern Jackson 104-inch Sofa with Chaise:

The TrueModern Jackson Chair is dangerous because once you sink into it you may not ever want to get up.

You have a few weeks to play around with layouts and think about color, but don’t wait too long. The sale ends on September 17, 2015.

Don’t Miss the Gus Modern Summer Sale!

Buying a new sofa is a big deal. It’s one of those big purchases that you hem and haw over and save up your money for. Don’t miss this chance to save 20% on Gus*Modern’s upholstered pieces. There is a range of beautiful styles, fabrics and colors. Also while you’re shopping, why not pick up a chair or two, and/or an upholstered ottoman? The sale is on until August 16, 2015, so you’ll have plenty of time to hem. And haw. Then decide.

The Margo Sofa is a beautiful new classic with French flair. And deep jewel-toned blue is the new neutral. Upholstered in jewel-toned velvet, you’ll want to channel your inner George Costanza and ensconce yourself in it. By the way, if blue velvet’s not for you, it also comes in quartz, zinc and goldleaf.

If Don Draper was shilling on Madison Avenue in 2015, I think he’d choose The Davenport Sofa. Its clean lines are a current update on mid-century modern style, and its sleek stainless steel base adds a contemporary touch.  It also comes in a bi-sectional version as well.

The Thatcher Sofa combines a steel frame with unique diamond-patterned upholstery that adds a slightly more traditional touch.

Need more space to stretch out and seat more people? The Jane Bi-Sectional Sofa gives you room to put your feet up and relax. Warning: This may induce a fat nap.

The Mimico Ottoman is one of those pieces that will serve you in many ways, in a bunch of rooms, for many years to come. Place it in the entryway as a landing strip, where you can take your shoes off and stash them, your bag and other equipment out of view inside. Use it as a coffee table that doubles as an ottoman. Place it at the end of your bed as a bench and keep an extra throw blanket stored inside. There are so many possibilities.

The Spanner Chair was designed in 1950 and its playful style has endures. In fact, it was out of production for about 50 years before Gus struck a deal with the Spanner family to bring this beauty back to life.

5 Must-Have Elements for The Perfect Outdoor Space

For many of us, the pollen is finally clearing, and it’s time to get that outdoor space spiffed up so that we can spend the maximum amount of time outdoors. What makes a great outdoor space? Here are my personal top five:

Even the tiniest of spaces needs plants to enliven it. Surely there is room even on the smallest of balconies for at least a potted plant or two. Consider a trellis, hanging pots or boxes that hang over the railings if you’re short on floor space.

Modernica’s mid-century modern pots with stands are one of the chicest modern ways to add life to your outdoor space.

Sometimes, the moon is not enough (or it’s a sliver). Enhance your lighting scheme however you can — tiki torches, lanterns, even inexpensive outdoor holiday lights can be just the right way to set the mood.

I’m also crazy about these pots from Offi, because they double as mood lighting. A compact fluorescent bulb is all it takes for them to light up your outdoor space with magical ambiance. Shop more outdoor lighting options —we’ve got everything from perforated candleholders to outdoor lamps with indoor style.

Yes, lots of people have fancy fire pits and full chimneys start at about tens thousand dollars. But it is easy to bring in a small fire pit that will keep you more than toasty on a cool night and toast a smorgasbord of s’mores to perfection.

Loll’s Fire Ring Set comes with an array of different colored tops so that it can serve double-duty as a coffee table when it’s not smoldering. But I like charcoal gray because it’s modern and it goes well with fire.

You cannot very well host that al fresco dinner party you’ve been thinking about without a proper table and chairs. Whether you buy new or set up some sawhorses, an old door for a tabletop and a mix of chairs from indoors, start envisioning your outdoor tablescape.

While I’d like to think it’s my scintillating personality that keeps my friends coming back to my screened-in porch for wine night, I know it’s really the cushy sofa where everyone can get comfy on big pillows and put their feet up.

The Blu Dot Jibe Collection is my favorite new outdoor line. It has all the comfort of indoor furniture without getting overwhelmed by overstuffed cushions.

What are your personal top five outdoor elements? Can’t live without the bubble of a fountain or the tunes from Pandora? Let us know in the comments section.
