We know now that the weather is warm that you may be lacking some cool yet comfy outdoor furniture. So we’ve slashed prices on outdoor selections from Kartell and Magis. The Kartell sale runs through June 8, 2014 and the Magis sale runs through June 9, 2014. Completely outfit your space or fill in a hole with a settee, sofa, armchair, lounge chair or bistro table and dining chairs. Here’s a few of the highlights from the sale to tempt you. And P.S., many of these items work just as well indoors too!
Cozy up like James Spader and William Shatner used to at the end of every episode of Boston Legal in this new classic, the playful Kartell Bubble Armchair. Price is slashed from $800 to $680 now through June 8, 2014. The Bubble also comes in a sofa version.
For a more streamlined look, consider the Kartell Magic Hole Sofa. This is a wonderful piece to set out on the front porch for curb appeal, waving to neighbors and watching the world go by. It also will give a hint to your modern and/or contemporary interior from the street. Currently on sale for $935 from $1100 through June 8, 2014.
Make dining al fresco a breeze with this modern bistro table from Magis. It comes in a square top or round top version and comes in table height and high-top table height. It’s been marked down from $999 to $849.15 now through June 9, 2014.
Pair the table height with a pair or two of the Magis Chair Ones, now on sale from $1378 to $1171.30 for two, now through June 9, 2014. Choose from red, black or white.
For a more relaxed pose, treat yourself to a Magis Paso Doble Chaise Lounge. This curved silhouette means you’ll be comfy reading a book, chatting over frozen cocktails or just soaking up some rays. On sale from $1979 to $1682.15 through June 9, 2014.
There are plenty more items to tempt you for the rest of the week.
Hey Everyone, Just wanted to let you know that if you’ve been considering purchasing from Pablo, Kartell or Vitra, today is the day to pull the trigger. The sale ends at midnight.
Warning: The following items and savings may tempt you ….
The Vitra New Panton Chair, down to $263.50 from $310. This contemporary classic adds a sleek touch to an eclectic mix, fits in seamlessly with super-modern rooms and slides its way right under a rustic reclaimed wood dining table. It’s glam at a dressing table and perks up a desk.
The Kartell Bubble Club Armchair slashed down to $612 from $720. These bring the library/family room club chair silhouette to an unexpected place — outdoors! Remember how James Spader and William Shatner used to sit in these and have a cigar at the end of Boston Legal every week?
The Pablo Lim 360 Task Lamp down to $255 from $300. I love this lamp because it’s very futuristic looking and sleek, yet the charm of the base gives it a touch of that retro ’70s paneling appeal. The balance between the pieces is pleasing and playful.
Speaking of playful, George Nelson’s iconic mid-century modern clocks are on sale too; this Ball Clock is down to $331.50 from $390. These are functional works of art you’ll not only treasure for life, but pass down as a prized possession.
So what are you waiting for? Hop on over to the sales and make up your mind before the clock strikes midnight!

I never say “I heart” as it just doesn’t fit in with my cynical and sarcastic nature. But I make an exception Blu Dot. They are one of the first vendors we carried when we started Design Public many moons ago. They are cool guys, you may remember Maurice from that show Area or spotted John’s woodsy vacation house in the woods of Minnesota that he designed himself in a cool magazine (I think it was Metropolis, but it might have been Met Home; I probably blogged about it at the time).
In fact, these dudes are one of the main reasons that the twin cities are so cool now. They send out the only retail newsletter that I bother to read and that I thoroughly enjoy, and their blog rocks. Their product shots are totally fun and crisp. They did some crazy GPS experiment thing with their Real Good chairs in NYC and they did a fun bartering/swap thingamajig awhile back. Yup, I heart them. No other company is that cool. Not even Apple. Well, maybe Nike; I saw that guy on Oprah and he was pretty awesome too. But I digress.
Wow, tell me to announce a Blu Dot sale and I gush and ramble. Here’s a look at just a few of the killer pieces you might be coveting. You have until November 8th 2011 to catch them at such good prices. Give yourself an early holiday present and just do it now, because you won’t do any better than these prices.
The Blu Dot Diplomat Sleeper Sofa. My favorite thing about this sofa? The proportions. A thin arm without a hint of a curve (I am so over rolled arms on sofas and chairs right now; I’m craving a nice thin-armed sofa), the nice cushy yet clean-lined upholstered sofa floats atop a beautiful wood base.
The Blu Dot Chicago 8 Box Shelf. This is a classic Blu Dot piece that has been around since, well, since Area aired. It’s longevity proves how strong and classically modern its design is, and how functional its form is:
The Blu Dot Knickerbocker Stool. This stool knows just how to use curves and how to wear a tight sweater to enhance them:
The Blu Dot Splash Coat Rack. I’m a sucker for anything that reminds me of Pick-Up Stix, probably the most dangerous game to give a bunch of rambunctious children. Regardless, the tepee-like stature and dipped-in-bright-blue hue of this coat rack makes me want to buy ten of them and put them against a wall in the MoMA.
The Blu Dot Strut Table. I have always wanted one of these, I’ve simply been paralyzed by commitmentphobia as all of the colors it comes in are SO GOOD that it’s impossible to choose just one:
