Real Good Blu Dot Chair. And Real Good Blu Dot SALE! Get 20% off all Blu Dot goods now through November 8th.
I never say “I heart” as it just doesn’t fit in with my cynical and sarcastic nature. But I make an exception Blu Dot. They are one of the first vendors we carried when we started Design Public many moons ago. They are cool guys, you may remember Maurice from that show Area or spotted John’s woodsy vacation house in the woods of Minnesota that he designed himself in a cool magazine (I think it was Metropolis, but it might have been Met Home; I probably blogged about it at the time).

In fact, these dudes are one of the main reasons that the twin cities are so cool now. They send out the only retail newsletter that I bother to read and that I thoroughly enjoy, and their blog rocks. Their product shots are totally fun and crisp. They did some crazy GPS experiment thing with their Real Good chairs in NYC and they did a fun bartering/swap thingamajig awhile back. Yup, I heart them. No other company is that cool. Not even Apple. Well, maybe Nike; I saw that guy on Oprah and he was pretty awesome too. But I digress.
Wow, tell me to announce a Blu Dot sale and I gush and ramble. Here’s a look at just a few of the killer pieces you might be coveting. You have until November 8th 2011 to catch them at such good prices. Give yourself an early holiday present and just do it now, because you won’t do any better than these prices.
The Buttercup Rocker. This piece inspired one of our very first customer home features; Nanette had mixed her lovely Buttercup into a lovely room with aplomb.

The Blu Dot Diplomat Sleeper Sofa. My favorite thing about this sofa? The proportions. A thin arm without a hint of a curve (I am so over rolled arms on sofas and chairs right now; I’m craving a nice thin-armed sofa), the nice cushy yet clean-lined upholstered sofa floats atop a beautiful wood base.
The Blu Dot Chicago 8 Box Shelf. This is a classic Blu Dot piece that has been around since, well, since Area aired. It’s longevity proves how strong and classically modern its design is, and how functional its form is:

The Blu Dot Knickerbocker Stool. This stool knows just how to use curves and how to wear a tight sweater to enhance them:

The Blu Dot Splash Coat Rack. I’m a sucker for anything that reminds me of Pick-Up Stix, probably the most dangerous game to give a bunch of rambunctious children. Regardless, the tepee-like stature and dipped-in-bright-blue hue of this coat rack makes me want to buy ten of them and put them against a wall in the MoMA.
The Blu Dot Strut Table. I have always wanted one of these, I’ve simply been paralyzed by commitmentphobia as all of the colors it comes in are SO GOOD that it’s impossible to choose just one:
