Mini Makeover: 10 Easy Ways to Perk Up Your Bathroom

Renovating a bathroom can be one of the most expensive home projects you might embark on. But there are plenty of inexpensive and labor un-intensive ways to give your bathroom a zshush and make it new to you. Here are 10 of the easiest ones.

1) Swap out your shower curtain. While you’re at it, give that liner a wash or demote it to paint tarp and get a new one.

2) Throw down a new bath mat. You can opt for one that’s made to be a bath mat, or chose a small area rug like a flat-weave or Oriental carpet.

3) Mount some better storage. One thing that bums me out are shampoo bottles, cosmetics and other toiletries that don’t have a proper place to be put away. Adding a new shelf or cabinet can help you keep this potential clutter organized and handy.

4) Upgrade your accessories. “Toilet brush” and “sexy” are not usually words you hear in the same sentence. But there are plenty of well-designed utilitarian bathroom accessories like wastebaskets, toilet paper roll holders, soap dispensers and more on the market today.

5) Hang a new mirror. Something as simple as a new shape or frame color can switch up the look of your bathroom. You can even do some mirror swaps from around the house; perhaps the one over your dresser is ready for a new spot, and vice-versa.

6) Stick it to the window. Add texture and privacy to your bathroom window with adhesive film, like this one from Emma Jeffs.

7) Toss your dirties into something fresh. Adding a hamper with a fun pattern, texture or color (or all three) might even make you want to do laundry.

8) Make sure everything has space to hang. Lately I’ve found I don’t have enough room for the luxury of multiple towel bars. Hooks are a space-saving option.

9) House that soap in something different. Don’t limit yourself to what the shops declare is a proper soap dish. Raid your kitchen pantry or display shelves for a saucer, small plate or other china that will fit a bar.

10) Don’t shy away from a little bling. Why not add some glamour to your bathroom? You and your toothbrush deserve it.

Kontextur Flash Sale and Giveaway!

Posted by | View all posts by

Take a look around your bathroom. What’s holding up your toothbrush? Lately I’ve found that all the fat-handled toothbrushes I buy don’t fit into those traditional toothbrush holder holes anymore, and mine tends to sit sadly over the sink. A cup tends to get a weird cement-like mixture of water and toothpaste in the bottom, turning it into yuckola.

However, all that can change. The Viktor Toothbrush Holder by Kontextür makes a great gift and will add some shine to your bathroom. We are holding a flash sale for the next four days (that’s December 12-16) for 35% off all Viktor Toothbrush Holders. These come in a set of three fun shapes, and you can choose from 18K gold, real silver

…or black nickel. They also can hold your razors the same way!

To celebrate our fun sale, we’re also giving away two other awesome Kontextür products – one lucky reader will win a Kontextür Rubber Duck (a new twist on a classic!)…

and another will win one of these chic and modern Kontextür Tissue Boxes!
