It seems like every Aussie I come across on the web has a style sensibility I envy. The latest is Fiona, a.k.a. fede shop on flickr. Check out this lovely booth that is already getting a lot of use:

Fiona also has an Etsy shop full of adorable baby toys. I love the rattle shaped like tools and covered in lovely textiles:

This weeks flickr fave comes from our Fresh New Spaces Group. It’s from flickr member souvenirs du passe.4104755791_e91fde8f9fThe space is beautiful in its simplicity, and the light in the photograph is just beautiful.

O.K. As I was working on this post, I realized that this flickr member is Paper Flower Girl, whom I was just reading about on decor8 a few days ago. The world of the interwebs just gets smaller and smaller the longer you are on it! Be sure to check out her Etsy store, her blog, and her entire flickr photostream, which is now a favorite of mine (especially the sketchbook page images).

Environmental Stocking Stuffer of the Week: Seed Bombs

Our pal VisuaLingual’s Seed Bombs have been getting mad press lately, and it couldn’t have happened to a more better product. Maya and Michael have designed the bombs to make random acts of gardening a cinch.  They have chosen native seeds that are bird, bee, and butterfly friendly.

The seeds were chosen because they are native to the midwest, but they will work all over the U.S.A. They include:

Queen Anne’s Lace, Upland White Aster Aster, Prairie Aster, Pot
Marigold, Cornflower, Siberian Wallflower, Shasta Daisy, Godetia,
Farewell-to-Spring, Lance-Leaf Coreopsis, Plains Coreopsis, Sulphur
Cosmos, Wild Cosmos, Chinese Forget-Me-Not, Wild Larkspur, Sweet
William, Purple Coneflower, California Poppy, Perennial Gaillardia,
Indian Blanket, Globe Gilia, Baby’s Breath, Wild Annual Sunflower,
Dwarf Sunflower, Dame’s Rocket, Rose Mallow, Baby Snapdragon,
Candytuft, Scarlet Flax, Blue Flax, Perennial Lupine, Russell Lupine,
Annual Lupine, Four O’Clock, Baby Blue Eyes, Evening Primrose, Red
Poppy, Mexican Hat, Prairie Coneflower, Black-Eyed Susan, Gloriosa
Daisy, Sweet Coneflower, None-so-Pretty

The muslin bags were made in the USA and screenprinted by hand with the Midwest Seed Bombs design. Inside each pouch is the full list of the seeds included. Each filled pouch weighs approximately 4-4.5 ounces. When you’ve used up the seed bombs, reuse the pouch or frame it!

Modern Inspiration: The Front Walk

The front walk – it’s your first chance at making an impression on visitors. Since more and more crackheads are knocking on my door asking for money lately, I have thorny roses blocking mine. However, if you want to let visitors feel welcome and let them know that you are groovy, you do what Jenn Ski did. We are LOVING the way she interpreted and installed the idea behind these photos.

Just wait until summer! Jenn has all the concrete poured. Here is the story of the work in pictures on flickr.

We also love Jenn Ski’s prints, available in her Etsy shop. Here’s a teaser:

I’m posting these flickr faves a day early because it’s a favorite workspace we missed last week. It comes to us from flickr member lockette. So white. So bright. So ORGANIZED! Those work surfaces and windows make this a perfect creative space. Love the photography too! You can peruse her creations in her Etsy store.
