Today’s favorite Flickr pick was added very recently, by blogger Pink Friday, a.k.a. Lisa from Sweden. So glad you added this to our Fresh New Spaces Group Lisa, because it led me over to your blog! This picture makes me want to take a dive into those fabulous pillows and look up at the wonderfully arranged wall of artwork in wonder:
I had the chance to catch up with Thomas Wold, who goes WAY back with this company, last week for another site I write for, and I wanted to share the interview with you in case you didn’t see it. Thomas is just such an amazingly creative dude, and one of the nicest coolest people around. These images are of some of his pieces that we sell here (click on the images to link to how to buy them if you’re interested). The interview is here.
Does the picture above look familiar? I remember the first time I saw interior stylist Lili Diallo’s DUMBO apartment and it was like a breath of fresh air. She has this way of making what could be clutter, or a chucked sofa, or found objects that one might find on the curb into art through the way she celebrates and arranges them. In that vein, she’s a curator, and her style crosses from eclectic to collected (a phrase I heard from Annette Joseph at an event that I much prefer to “eclectic” lately). In fact, I seem to remember trying to post about her years ago after I saw this place and finding no information whatsoever. That’s why I was so thrilled when this…
…arrived on my front steps today. Thanks Amazon fairy! Anyway, Lili Diallo wrote this book, full of secrets from a stylist. Her writing style is friendly, approachable, and makes you feel like you can do it. This is the perfect gift for anyone you know who is still lamenting the demise of Domino, or yourself! As I was flipping through my Flickr favorite folder, I came across this piece by one of our favorite designers, Thomas Wold. To learn all about how the piece, created by found pieces, came to be, check out Thomas’s blog post about it. To shop Thomas Wold, click here.
This week I was looking through the Fresh New Spaces Group on flickr and the rooms that really jumped out at me were the ones where I could really see the owners’ personalities and personal style. Here are a few of my favorites:
I just love this living room shot from lipstickonmyteeth. I also love that the caption reads “The picture I chose if I have to sum up my style with one image”:
Be sure to check out the lipstickonmyteeth blog here!
Bright colors and a mix of styles balance out in La Vie Toni’s scrumptious living room:
Be sure to check out her blog here. Be warned – some of the shots will make you really hungry. Right now I am craving a sandwich I just saw over there.
