It’s another one of those silly national “holidays,” but we’ll use any excuse to savor our java. In honor of this very important day, here are some of our favorite coffee prep and delivery vessels.

notNeutral Cooper Hewitt LINO Coffee Mug Set of 4These are a very special series of mugs developed by notNeutral in partnership with the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum. This inaugural series features a selection of textile patterns from the museum’s iconic collection, designed by artists Josef Hoffmann and Koloman Moser during the early 1900’s Wiener Werkstätte era.

Stelton AJ Coffee Serving SetLaunched in 1967, the Cylinda Line designed by Arne Jacobsen immediately attracted considerable attention for its serene and functionalist design. It’ an iconic set any modernist will love for life, and hand down for generations.

Tanssi_coffee_cup_0_2L.jpgiittala Tanssi Coffee Cup. A cup inspired by an opera called “The Cunning Little Vixen” — we’re all in. “Tanssi” means “dance” in Finnish, and it’s also the name for this exuberant new tableware collection illustrated by London-based Finnish artist Klaus Haapaniemi.

Nambe Bulbo Coffee Canister with Scoop. This sleek little canister combines sleek steel with warm acacia wood. Designed by Lou Henry, it’s the perfect way to store, access and scoop high quality coffee beans.

Eva Solo Madam Solo Coffeemaker. Even the strictest minimalist won’t have trouble leaving this simple porcelain coffeemaker out on the counter. It’s Eva Solo’s modern take on the iconic Danish coffee pot, Madam Blue. The coffee pot enables you to brew coffee in two different ways. Either the traditional way using a coffee filter, or ‘al fresco’, which is how coffee was originally brewed.

links-coffee-set-blk.jpg_1notNeutral Links Coffee Set. Along with the coffee, the strong graphic on these pieces will help you wake up. Inspired by the way bicycle chains fit together, the design is by Rios Clementi Hale Studios. Includes a coffee pot with lid, a creamer and sugar bowl.

Muuto Push Coffee Maker. This contemporary Nordic press fits right in on a shelf full of other favorite shapely objects.  “I wanted to make a coffee press, which is both soft to look at and soft to hold. The friendly shape goes hand in hand with the warm and cozy atmosphere that a good cup of coffee provides.” — designer Mette Duedahl.

Eastvold Elko Coffee Table – Bamboo. Of course, every good hot cup needs a good place to perch. This handmade coffee table is at once contemporary yet fills us with nostalgia for the mid-century modern era.

Nambe Twist Coaster Set of 6And of course, you’ll want to protect your coffee table. We love this set because it doubles as a gorgeous sculptural piece you’ll admire even when the coasters aren’t in use.

Whatever you do today, take a second to stop and smell the coffee.

Dunkin Donuts SignWhoa. They are selling the Dunkin’ Donuts neon sign from the Brighton Mass Dunks! If I had an amazing loft – which I do not – I would LOVE to snag this sign and put it in my place. Get on it!
