Take a look at our Flickr friends find: Kim Gombes. I saw Kim’s photo on Flickr of her Hybrid-Home Limited Edition Print Visible Robot and knew right away that I wanted to see more. Lucky for us Kim wanted to attack the challenge of photographing the print as it glowed in the dark…AWESOME!

Kim Gombes.

San Diego, CA
What do you do?
Former T.V. News Producer now Stay-at-Home Mom to my 4-year-old son.
DP Purchase/s:
Hybrid-Home Visible Robot Print by Brian Flynn. I bought it as a birthday gift for my husband (because it reminds me of him). It’s cool. It glows in the dark, which I was not aware of when I purchased it and we had quite the surprise the night after I hung it.
What’s your favorite DP product and why?
I love DP’s selection of Sustainable Modern Kids and Baby Products. I feel good about (more…)

I love slideshow-ing through eyewash designs’ photos over at flickr. WARNING: Do not go check out her flickr account unless you can afford to burn some serious time. You will be spending a long time there once you are sucked in! Anyway, here’s a recent favorite:

eyewash design is Alane Golden, a true renaissance woman who also has a fabulous blog right here. Thanks Alane!

Thank you Nicole (you may know her from pinklovesbrown and Making it Lovely) for tipping me off about Organization is for Squares. This is a flickr group that inspires me to clean out cabinets and attempt to display all of everything with more style. The group is public; if you are interested in joining, here’s the skinny:
Squares, cubes, and grids keep things tidy (and looking good).
“Wanna see how other people use their IKEA Expedits? How shoe cubbies can organize a craft room? How divided drawers can neatly store and showcase accessories? You’re in the right place. ” You can join up right here.
I added a few, but I think I was a little loose with the term “grid” - more like a Mondrian grid than a true grid - I hope I didn’t ruin it!
Thanks Nicole!

Have I ever mentioned my serious chair fetish? Well, I have one. When I moved into my current house, one of my movers said “Damn Baby Girl, You gotta alotta chairs!” Yes, he called me “Baby Girl” or “Princess” the whole time - it was a VERY long annoying day. Back on track, this picture was submitted to our Fresh New Spaces group by flickr superstar ninainvorm. Be sure to check out all of her flickr photos here - her house renovation provides great inspiration!

Hey All! I’m still journeying back from Boston but wanted to do a drive-by with this lovely loft slideshow that just popped up in the Fresh New Spaces flickr group. I especially love the kitchen island and coffee table and would love to know the story behind them. Thanks to flickr and Fresh New Spaces member somethings hiding in here for sharing with us!

Well, more like the flickr photo of the month, since I forgot about my regular flickr feature for awhile! It comes from SomewhereinAK, a.k.a. Stephen Nigl. To learn more about how to buy his prints, click here.

I found this via one of my favorite flickr groups, RURAL DECAY. What are some of your favorite flickr groups?

Hey All! I’ve been collecting images of some of my favorite workspaces to share for awhile, but I thought this one deserved it’s very own blog post. It’s from flickr member shefightslikeagirl, and it’s a beautiful sewing area. She made the wall from IKEA coasters: (more…)

Do you ever have the design blahs, when you are feeling totally uninspired and nothing seems to jump-start you? Whenever I feel that way, I click over to Hula Seventy’s blog, and then I want to put on my sneakers and start observing the world around me with new eyes. We here in Atlanta lost her to Portland some months ago, but the upside is being able to see all her photographs of a new scene.

For the last week or so, she’s been concentrating on color, here’s a quick taste. For more of her photos, check her out on flickr.

I spent about two hours today looking through all the photos in our Fresh New Spaces group. Thank all of you who have shared your photos so much - they are truly inspiring! I’ve been trying to find good resources/inspiration for staging a loft, and there were a ton of them in the group, right under my nose!
All though I’ve been obsessed with yellow lately, I was really struck by the way a lot of you use blue. Then I started obsessing over all the blue in my favorites folder, so here they are:
