Baaahhhhhh…one little mini-trend my antennae picked up on this weekend was sheep – here are just a few images from ICFF to show you what I’m talking about. The sheep above was designed by crafts collection, marketed by danish crafts. Check out the sheepy throw over on the right. By the way, these benches by molo were made of paper and were surprisingly sound!

A chair that’s far from sheepish from Waazwiz of Japan:

Sorry, I couldn’t help myself with the lame “sheepish” pun.<strike> I can’t seem to find the designer of the rockin’ sheep at the top in my notes* – if anyone knows, please leave me a comment or shoot me an email so that I can add it to the post.</strike> Thanks so much to Cici for letting me know the designer and the website for Mr. Sheep. I added it above. Also, Yoshi has informed me that the Waazwiz chair is called “Gracial.” <strike>*Oh my, I sound like Stephen Glass!</strike>

I’m so burnt out on all things design-related I think I need an official “Design Detox Day” to recalibrate. (You know, eat corndogs, listen to the Ramones. . . maybe race go-carts and watch Dumb and Dumber.)

But I digress. In all seriousness, we saw SO MUCH exciting design in New York this year that it’s a little tricky to get your head around.

In effort to centralize and make sense of all the events that transpired we have a little New York Design Week recap page where we’ve been linking our favorite headlines from around the Web — we’ve also posted plenty of photos from the Brooklyn Designs Show and ICFF. Take a look: designpublic.com/nydesignweek.

More thoughts on New York Design Week to come. . .

The film is being presented as part of The Barcelona in Progress Exhibit , which runs through June 10.

The screening will take place at 6:30, and you’ll be out in time for dinner. If you plan to attend, RSVP here. Personally, after having a panic attack DESCENDING tower stairs in the Sagrada Familia, marked by intense vertigo and my legs turning to rubber, I don’t know if I could quite handle "the beauty of Teshigahara’s camera gliding through the Sagrada Familia, set to Toru Takemitsu’s expressive score" on the big screen, but it sounds like it is an exceptional film. Gaudi is one of my all time favorites, especiallly Parc Guell. Darn it, my own Barcelona photos are in some album in my childhood bedroom closet, so I’ve borrowed the one to the left from great buildings.com. I’m sure any of their photos are better than my own anyway.

The Center for Architecture is located at 536 LaGuardia Place.
