Have you been watching Mad Fashion on Bravo? I have, as I pretty much watch everything on Bravo, well, except for Most Eligible Dallas, which looks too awful even for me. Anyway, I loved Chris March on Project Runway because he’s so creative and hilarious, and it’s so much fun to see him in his element, creating costumes like a Mardi Gras outfit for Jennifer Coolidge.

See that fab rug in the background? Yeah, we got that. It’s the Thomas Paul Flock Dhurrie in Green and Cream, and it will ground your room with a vibrant layer of a rich mossy green oversized pattern. The Thomas Paul Rug Collection is made of high quality wool with the finest construction available. It’s kind of baroque-goes-modern:

Never in a million years would I have thought to pair it with hot pink, but in the case of March’s studio, it works.

Have you been watching Mad Fashion? What has your favorite challenge been? The most shocking thing to me is that the clients tend to hire him about two days before a crazy event and they whip something together in no time flat! I’m just hoping that one day someone will actually choose to wear one of Izzy Decauwert’s fabulous wigs – she puts so much time and love into them and it seems no one ever opts to top of their outfit with her creation. Where do crazy unused wigs go after such rejection? The Wendy Williams Show?

Besides seeing Jennifer Coolidge, who is always hilarious on TV and movies and in “real life,” Dina Manzo’s closet was my other favorite thing about this show. It was so much larger than my entire house and it’s shoe heaven. Totally insane:

Anyway, if you haven’t caught this little gem of a show it really is delightful. Check it out on Bravo; I’m sure it’s on like ten times a week like every other show on Bravo!

Does anyone else watch that bananas show, The Rachel Zoe Project on Bravo? Personally, I find it riveting, despite the way they all speak! Poor Jeremiah. He’s so cute and enthusiastic, but Rach and Rodge gave him the heave-ho right before Rachel’s due date. They then beg him to design baby Sky’s modern nursery in like five minutes (because of religious traditions, they don’t believe in getting ready for the baby until it has arrived, so he literally had the time she was in the hospital giving birth to get this together). Luckily, the Spot On Square Roh Crib was on Jere’s radar:

After pulling himself together during another quick room-appointing moment, the final product is beautiful, though Rachel may have to re-think her love of all things white when she sees what Sky’s sticky little fingers will do to it as he gets into Go-gurt and red popsicles!

Jere used taupe to warm up all that white, including the Olio Bed Skirt and Cobblestone Crib Set. Note how the cobblestone takes on a giraffe print look when paired with a stuffed giraffe. Rich textures were brought in via the shag rugs, poufs, and throws, and you know a Zoe baby has to have some Hermes around.

Yup, these are the little one’s shoes. I. Die. Check out those tiny white Gucci loafers on the end. They remind me of Herb Tarlick on WKRP in Cincinnati. Alright, I’m really old, I admit it.

A few weeks back on Facebook I wrote something like “Storage Wars. Pawn Shops. Exterminators. South Beach Tow. Kate Gosselin. I think it’s safe to say there are too many TV channels.” Well, I have to take back what I said about Storage Wars. As a big part of my rockin’ Friday night last weekend, I happened to catch a marathon on A&E, and it’s so addictive, I can see how the characters on it are addicted to the allure of someone’s abandoned storage locker full of junk. Basically, when someone abandons a storage locker, it’s put up for auction. Collectors and people who own consignment and thrift shops bid on the contents. They are only allowed a peek inside. While flashlights are allowed, going inside the locker or opening boxes is prohibited. The show follows a hilarious crew of characters who try to outbid each other, each with their own instincts about what a box or garbage bag inside may mean. By far, the coolest dude on the show, maybe on the planet, is Barry:

He’s a collector who will buy a locker in search of one cool thing. If it turns out to be guitars (he sees a guitar pick and a Bob Marley poster on a locker floor and senses instruments may be hiding under a sectional sofa), he calls up a buddy to help him figure out the value. The buddy just happens to be in Aerosmith. Barry is a combination of a slick Michael Douglas character and Jack Nicholson and your own father. He’s charming, he has a bunch of crazy cool cars, and I suspect he may be a bit of a hoarder, but perhaps a very organized hoarder.

The only con in watching this show? The thought of how many bedbugs are probably in some of those lockers makes me itch. Especially when thrift store owners take upholstered furniture and bags of old clothes to sell in their stores. Ick.

When I was a kid, A&E stood for Arts and Entertainment, and its programming was heavy with the arts part. Along with Bravo, it was full of boring Shakespeare and stuff no kid wanted to watch. It’s so funny how reality television has taken over these channels and what their identities are now. A&E has gone from Opera to Gene Simmons in just a few decades. Go figure.

Have you watched this show? If so, who is your favorite character and what was your favorite treasure that they have found?
