OK, so there’s no alliteration, but my brain is still mushy and I am letting others do the work for me. Today it’s scrapbooking hall-of-famer, flickr member candimandi from here’s lookin’ at me kid. I am really excited that I plucked this one from my flickr favorites folder, because I’d fallen into this blog before and totally loved it, but then forgotten all about it and lost track of it.

I am always fascinated by people who are good at arranging art, because I always think I’m going to be good at it, but the truth is I am terrible. You know, like how you think you are going to make killer stuff at Color Me Mine and then you come home $40 poorer with a red plate with a crooked gold star on it. Anyway, hat’s off to you candimandi, I think this arrangement looks great! If you’d like to learn more about each piece and where she found them (they were all bargains), check out the post here.
I can’t resist adding another photo of her groovy home. As I look through them, I have having deja-blog. I feel like I’ve blogged about here’s lookin’ at me kid before. I hope I didn’t use these same photos – if I have, apologies! Anyway, how fabulooski is that coffee table?:

Yesterday I was totally inspired by sfgirlbybay and finally made my first flickr mosaic after reading this post. Coincidentally, I think Victoria was the first person who ever asked me to be flickr buddies years ago! She may have also been one of our very first “flickr faves” here at Hatch. Her photography and the photography of those in her group and blog continue to keep us all inspired week after week, and now year after year. Anyway, I think I gave every single one of these photos a “mark as fave” star when I saw them in the sfgirlbybay flickr group.

To practice being a mosaic master like Victoria, try using big huge labs. Even I figured it out easily, and I am absolutely terrible at this stuff.

Here are some more beautiful shelves from flickr member hnxing. Check out the way she had the stamps framed. I’ve been meaning to do this with my Eames stamps before I use them all up on bills!

It’s so fun to see a new batch of photos added to our Fresh New Spaces Group! I know I just featured her a few weeks back (here), but I had to share Ivy style 33′s lovely shelf arrangement with you today. I hope it inspires some weekend organizing and decorating for you!

“We’re all collectors by nature. But if you’re talking about an orderly life, there has to be a stop sign somewhere. Building a collection requires a strong constitution and the ability to resist.”
-Albert Hadley, The Story of America’s Preeminent Interior Designer
It also requires good eye for assembly. Through Jenn Ski, whose blog we mentioned last week, I found myself linking over to the fabulous Junk Culture blog, and from there I linked over to Lost Found Art. Lost Found Art describes itself as “a unique design company that specializes in sculptural installations and assemblages using antique and vintage pieces. Our works are created with an eye to scale, balance, color and surface interest, and the end result is a strong visual statement that combines artistic statement, whimsy, form and uniqueness.”
It makes me think that a collection of just about anything can look good if it’s arranged the right way! Here are a few favorites. There are about 70 more here.

Do you have an artfully arranged collection of something? PLEASE SHARE IT WITH US!
