I am not one of those women who gets all giddy about pink and then pretend that makes me girly. However, pops of pink done right have been catching my eye lately. I don’t want to involve tutus or a tiara, but a recent viewing of Steel Magnolias has me thinking about bashful and blush. Here are some great uses of pink:
Last week I was cruising the fabulous tackiness that is Route 28 on Cape Cod and stopped by Jenny Boston. I love the way they made their cute black and white store stand out with a few simple and obnoxious fuchsia accents. It kind of fits their style; it’s like Jackie O or Kate Spade on a budget with some obnoxiousness added in (in a good way; if Kenneth Jay Lane and Trina Turk had a baby, it would be Jenny Boston).
I hadn’t thought about pink and purple since the early ’80s, but this gorgeous flower arrangement that Saidos da Concha posted to our Fresh New Spaces Group on Flickr. Please come on by and share any shots of your home!
A few months ago I was lucky enough to attend a really fun wedding in Puerto Rico. The only thing better than the fun look of this cupcake cake was waking up to the box with two pieces in it someone had packed up and stuck in my hands the night before!
Finally, more electric orange and geranium pink grabbed my attention on the streets of Collioure, France. I’m definitely going to have to have some fun with more pink and orange around my house. What do you think about pink?

I love pink when it pops!! Like you – I hate the over girly pink but in the right place it’s actually refreshing!
