I love Christina Applegate, Maya Rudolph and GOB Bluth, I mean, Will Arnett, and their new show Up All Night is hilarious. I also love seeing the work of set designers, and how the sets tell us about the characters. Apparently, they are into Case Study Houses and Richard Neutra (see bottom right corner). With a new baby in the house, these tomes don’t stand a chance of keeping that prime position on the coffee table!

It’s great when the set design for a show reflects the characters’ personalities. It lets the viewers know right off the bat what kind of person this character is without having to come out and say it. It’s also fun to watch how the set evolves with them.

Sadly, I found the set design (was surprised to see the Neutra book on the tabl) WAAAY more interesting than the show
I love Arnett/Rudolph/Applegate but good lord that show was a snoozefest. SO boring, edited weird (maybe I could get used to it if it’s an editing style of the show), but seriously….SOOOOOO BORING and I didn’t laugh once.
And I am often called the laughing hyena too!

Wow Chungy, it had me on the floor with Maya Rudolph saying “I grew up on the hardscrabble roads of the Florida panhandle…” As long as something is edited without a laughtrack, it’s scoring major points with me right off the bat – total pet peeve of mine.

I love this couch! Anyone know who makes it?
