Well, May is National Bike Month and this week is National Bike to Work Week. If all you can manage is a token day, don’t fret, it’s not until Friday, which is Bike to Work Day. Hmmm, should we go ahead and declare noon to one p.m. on Friday Bike To Go Get Hour? Anyway, in honor of the spirit of this week, I thought I’d round up a few bicycle related products.

I keep meaning to share this fun light fixture with you. I took this around the Christmas holidays at The Southern Living Ideahouse in Georgia. If you’re not finding a fun casual light fixture, why not wire up a favorite basket?

I was flipping through our Fresh New Spaces Group yesterday and was struck almost immediately by a bunch of photos from member michelle smith :: feminine modern. In particular, this nursery (I gotta tell you, I don’t have kids and 99% of the time I find nurseries a TOTAL snore), which is fresh, simple, and gives a nod or two to mid-century modernism:

Michelle also has a lovely blog and an Etsy shop, so check her out if you haven’t already!

Ah! I think my time this week has been sucked up by a big design blog catch up! Sorry for the lack of posts! However, here are a few of the things I’ve been checking out lately:
1) I found out I’m an eco-dummy by taking this How Eco-Saavy Are You Quiz over at Real Simple.
2) I’ve been reading about heroic chair restorations over at Manhattan Nest. Can you believe that this abandoned Eames chair:

Was rehabbed with lots of elbow grease, love, and a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and turned into this?

3. Loving this story of a sofa transformation over at Wood and Faulk. He’s my hero.
4. Catching up on a few eps of Secrets From a Stylist on HGTV.com. Emily has the best personality, and I really like her approach when she works with people.
5. Now I swear I don’t watch any of those shows that are all about cakes, but I thoroughly enjoyed the Jealous Curator’s collection of cake images over at sfgirlbybay:

I love this unexpected combination of contemporary furniture and the sweet floral bedding! It’s from Flickr member Carlota’s photostream; thanks so much to adding it to our Fresh New Spaces Group!
