Act yourself into right thinking! Place the emphasis on the action. And get a lot of support from friends.

Condo, that sounds like a good, realistic plan. Can you share some of the changes you made? I was trying that for awhile and while I kept my new habits, I stopped adding new habits after awhile! Small changes add up to a lot.

Lindsey, I have several items that have been on my upholstery list for YEARS. I don't know why I can't seem to get that done! You've inspired me to give it another try.

Thanks for the tips to keep my mind and home fresh! Fixing up my house was actually my exact New Year's Resolution! Too bad I got antsy and did it early...so glad I did.

As far as tips go, I found this website called designdivafabrics.com. Definitely highly recommended after my experience with them.

I literally reupholstered almost all of my furniture and created new window treatments and really found out the small things make the difference. Plus, I think I ended up spending half of my budget.

Hope this helps anyone reading!

Last year I made a list of New Year's Resolutions. I also decided to make one small green change each month. I was better at making and keeping the one small changes than the big resolutions - unless someone landscapes my front yard in the next few days before New Years :)

I'm sticking to the One Small Change a month because collectively I developed a lot of very good habits that I built into my life and am keeping.
