If you’re from Massachusetts you’ve got to watch this!

Massachusetts is notorious for discount, “bargain basement” furniture retailers. Many times my brother Drew (DP co-founder) and I have joked about doing mock Design Public TV commercials a la Bob’s or Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture. Well, it looks like another set of brothers beat us to it — kids I went to high school with no less.
Hats off to the Hurley brothers and Improv Boston for a job well done.

OK, I haven’t even watched this, but Jawahdins Fuhnitchah commercials are the worst. that guy has a voice for sign language…

As I was watching, I found myself hoping they’d say “I doubt it” (check!) and the jingle would include “quality, comfort, and price…that’s nice!”
I now live in Central VA (Charlottesville), but I’ve traveled all over the country for my job since I left Boston. I have never encountered any furniture store with gimmicks that come close to Jordan’s, though. Do they give you free food, Mardi Gras beads, and put you on rides hoping you won’t notice how hideous the junk they sell is?

Upstart, I’ve lived in Cville and Boston too, and my deepest regret is that I never had the MOM experience at Jordan’s. Hey, at Grand Furniture on Route 29 they give you a Coke in a glass bottle!
