While I love what Shigeru Ban did with them, I’ve been a bit cynical about all the structures made up of shipping containers lately. It’s been a real yawn. Perhaps because I associate it with the container full of dead girls on Season II of The Wire. I don’t know. But this photo I saw in Apartment Therapy is changing my mind:
I also love this student housing project in Amsterdam:
When the scale and shape of these containers is used appropriately, the results can be smashing.

These are all great. I had considered transforming one into a home, but now I think I may do a recording studio transformation instead.
