The other day Hatch got a comment from Tom Anderson, a blogger friend that always keeps me up to date on what’s happening with The New Canaan Five houses. From that comment I realized that he and his wife (a graphic designer) have a new blog called modernhousenotes. I first gasped at this Andy Goldsworthy piece that Tom drives by everyday:
For those of you who have been to Westchester County, you know they are blessed with miles amazing old stone walls – this piece is such a delightful surprise!
Scrolling down the posts, I realized I will be able to keep up on what’s going on with the New Canaan modern architecture through this blog (think The Ice Storm if you’re not sure what I’m talking about) . Then I realized I didn’t even know that there are Eames stamps out there. These are the best ones I’ve seen since the Noguchi series. OK, I have to go order some at USPS.com RIGHT NOW! I’ll be back…dang! Not available ’til next summer. I’ll have to keep hoarding my Noguchis, Olmsteds, and American Architecture sets.
How about these prefab, billboard-inspired dwellings? Somehow I’d missed these as well (have I mentioned I’m behind on the blogs lately? It’s hard to keep up). Anyway, Tom and Gina’s is worth hitting often. They have great taste, keen insights, mad editing skills and they are really good at keeping up with all of the best blog posts. Thanks guys!
