Project Runway Recap

get_look_win.pngHmmm, I’m not so sure about this year on Project Runway. The contestants seem way too aware that they are on TV and thus are all fake nice to each other, except for Christian, who is clearly trying to stand out by being bitchy.  It’s been done to death already Christian, give it up!  The rest of you, I don’t believe for a second that you are that nice.  It’s a competition for the love of God!

I did enjoy last night’s episode; the challenge was to create outfits for women who had recently lost a significant amount of weight.  The twist was that they were wearing their favorite outfits that went with their former heavier bodies, and the contestants had to use those to make the new clothes.  There were too many loopholes though, as they were allowed to spend $10 on extras.

SPOILER ALERT IF YOU PRESS THE MORE BUTTON…

Poor Jack had to go due to a MRSA infection, but this gave Chris, last week’s ousted contestant, a chance to come back and tone down his costume tendencies.   Stephen was given a woman who showed up in her wedding dress, and instead of using it to make, say, some bold black and white vertically striped pants or something, he bitched about how crappy the fabric she wore on the most memorable day of her life was and basically tossed the whole thing.   He bought a bunch of black fabric and glued on some white to make a dress a pilgrim would not be caught dead in.  As soon as he tried to imitate Tim Gunn like Santino used to last week I knew he was a talentless copycat wannabe. Sayanora Stephen, don’t let the door hit your butt on the way out.  Good riddance.  Wow, I think I must be channeling Christian here…

Christian did win, and he deserved it (see above).  The only thing I did not like was the cropped jeans with the boots.  If you want a woman to look even slimmer and longer, put her in heels and LONG pants dude.  The top was phenomenal but from the waist down she looked like she was going to a Bon Jovi concert in 1988.

Oh, I also love that they featured my favorite Wahoo football player of all time, Tiki Barber last week.  He is the smartest, classiest, cutest and most amazing athlete I’ve ever seen.   I mean, back in college, he and his brother Ronde hired a financial adviser before they even hired sports agents.  In contrast, I went to my first Falcons game on Monday night.  First of all, football arenas should not have a dome.  Football is meant to played outside, come rain, sleet or snow.   The dome has this sleep-inducing, sanitizing effect.  Second, why the hell were so many people wearing Michael Vick jerseys?   To show their support of a man’s right to torture and hang animals?    But I digress…

What do you all think of the show this season?
