Sunset Idea House, 2007In case you missed it, the SF Chronicle recently wrote about the Sunset Idea House. The article is a great teaser if you have not seen the home yet…almost a play by play of each room and feature. To wet your whistle, the picture included with this post (courtesy of the SF Chronicle) shows a smattering of DP bedding. Quite handsome, I must say.

I plan on going to the house this weekend to finally put my imagination to rest. I am sure my visions of the kitchen cabinet doors (photographs of exotic wood under layers of class), the Endless Pool, or the 50-foot wind turbine, let alone all the *DP products in action don’t do the features justice. (*To be alerted when these items will be made available for sale, sign up for our newsletter here.)

Also, a friendly reminder that this is the last weekend to view the house before they close for the holidays (closed the weekends of December 21 and December 28). The house will resume their regular schedule beginning the weekend of January 4th, 2008.

The Sunset Idea House is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (except during the above mentioned dates). General admission is $20; $15 for seniors on Fridays. No children younger than 10. The house is located at 3029 25th St, San Francisco, CA 94110. Please note: parking is extremely limited. Free shuttles will be offered from the San Francisco General Hospital parking lot. For information, call (800) 786-7375 or visit the Sunset Web site: www.sunset.com.

About Ali:
I enjoy wood paneled station wagons, German food and senior citizens (I am 80 years old at heart). Nearly every weekend I am taking photos at other people's weddings and I have a blog of my own (but I don't update it often enough). I love to paint, sew and knit. Check out my DP Staff profile on Hatch.

We at Marin Designworks manufacture glass tile and it is included in the SF Sunset Idea house. We’ve not seen the house yet, but plan to take a day off from our Sebastopol manufacturing plant and take our wonderful employees to see the house – because we love what we do. Though we’re not mentioned in any articles thus far, I do hope when you do see the house that you appreciate our glass tile as much as we do. We made beautiful 16×14 panels of Aqua Blue glass tile…I believe it’s in the downstairs bathroom. We use a low-VOC coating on our glass and the color is intense and stunning!

Please come see the house as not only is it a wonderful showcase for some beautiful and mostly earth friendly product but the $ proceeds go toward the SF Human Society. Thanks!
