Sunset SF Idea House is Open!
Over the past few months a few of our DP crew members have been working diligently to help setup the Sunset Idea House in San Francisco. The home is now open for public perusal, and boy, is this a house you don’t want to miss!
The San Francisco Idea House:
- Open from November 30, 2007 through January 27, 2008.
- Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9am-4pm.
- Located at 3029 25th St, San Francisco, CA 94110 (***parking is very limited. For public transportation or bicycles go to San Francisco General Hospital parking lot for free shuttles or directions to the house).
- General admission is $20 per ticket, $15 for seniors Friday only. No children under the ages of 10.
***PLEASE NOTE: The house will be CLOSED the weekends of December 21 and December 28 due to the holidays. After the holidays the house will resume their regular schedule beginning the weekend of January 4th, 2008.
To give a little background…the home is actually a bit of a pioneer. It is the first Sunset Idea Project to rise in an urban setting. Eco-friendly architecture is typically found in rural regions where there is more room for new construction and substantial sized energy systems. But, Sunset has shown that eco-savvy design is just as suitable in urban lands and as it is in suburban neighborhoods.
Within the home you will see a number of DP products on display including Matteo, Blu Dot, Dwell, Area, True Modern, Twinkle Living, Emeco, k studio, Pablo, Brave Space, Vitra, zid zid kids, Context Furniture, notNeutral, Modern Bamboo, Vessel, Orange22, Salvor Fauna, and OFFI. A tour through the home is a great chance to view Design Public products in action! As the tour draws to a close, all DP products from the home will be sold at a 50% off discount.
