Does this house seem familiar?
How about now?
Or now?
Maybe in the dark?
My friend Chrissy just emailed me from Dublin and said ” I’m
staying at a cool, interestingly decorated hotel in dublin called
the trinity capital hotel. Lots of purple, beetle-juice type
decor.” The weird thing is that that’s the third time I’ve heard a “Beetlejuice” reference this week (the other thing is that Chrissy is never lazy about grammar, so I figure she must be enjoying a few pints). First someone was describing another person as looking “totally sick and Beetlejuicy,” then I think I heard it on some lame sitcom I was trying out, like “Carpoolers,” and now Chrissy said it. It’s so true; “Beetlejuice” instantly conjures up a very specific aesthetic. Unfortunately, it can also describe someone with a crystal meth problem.
Has anyone found interior shots of the sets? I tried to find it online but there were just too many unrelated results. Most of the photos were from the miniature town sets or were of Winona Ryder, and not the interior of the house.
Oh, so I checked out The Trinity Capital Hotel, and it looks pretty cool, like a place where the artist formerly and then not and now currently known as Prince would feel very much at home:

Beetlejuice photos swiped from Ironic Sans, which I discovered trying to google Beetlejuice. It’s a really cool blog, check it out.

Funny! Yes, I’ve had a few pints and funny how it gets even more “Beetlejuicish” when you see double!

OMG Becky… for a minute there I thought you were on a trip up North and discovered the real Beetle(guese) house. That would’ve been exciting. One of my fave movies ever. Could Winona and gang be more charming? Yes, the hotel totally has a high-tea beetlejuicy x paisley park vibe.
