Factory Girl
I’m sitting here suffering through Factory Girl. It’s kind of boring. The only excitement I get is when the phone rings on screen, because it sounds just like my cell and I wonder if I’m getting a call. I remember reading an Edie biography when I was about 14 and finding it equally boring. If she’s the most interesting person Andy Warhol ever met, I don’t think anyone has done a good job of capturing her allure.
Anyway, we’ve all seen the factory recreated in so many other movies, so it’s not all that exciting. I find myself wondering where to buy those silver balloons and whether they found all those old Brillo boxes or made their own props. Hayden Christiansen, I can’t think of him as any other character except…Stephen Glass.
The fashion is great, and all Pittsburgh disses aside, Sienna is good in the role and the costumes are totally inspiring. Guy Pearce is pretty good as Andy Warhol, but not as good as Crispen Glover Jared Harris (thanks Melissa - see comments!) was in I Shot Andy Warhol. The worst Warhol portrayal ever was when David Bowie played him in Basquiat. Guy Pearce - he’s one of those actors like Gary Oldman whom I never recognize from role to role but who always does a good job. Anyway, I really want those silver balloons, for some fantasy party in my head that I will never wind up throwing.

It was Jared Harris who played Andy Warhol in “I Shot Andy Warhol”, not Crispen Glover.

Crispen Glover portrayed Andy (ever so briefly) in the movie, “The Doors”.

Ah! I feel like an idiot! Thanks for clarifying. It was Jared that I liked the best so far!
Whatever happened to Crispen Glover? He was always entertaining on Letterman.
Thanks Melissa!

Crispin Glover was deliciously creepy in Charlie’s Angels.

Ah yes, the thin man with the cigarette or something like that? Hard to believe it’s the same guy from Back to the Future.
Crispen Glover - what a funky name. I dig it.
