Modern Advice from Vintage Magazines

I’m always awed by how relevant vintage design magazines are in today’s design world. I just had to share this fabulous spread from a 1964 Woman’s Day Guide to Good Decorating:
Doesnt’ that floor remind you of FLOR tiles? The sofa and chairs are fabulous, and that painting is cool modern kitsch.
Flipping through more pages of the same issue -How fantastic is this Bertoia patio?
The issue is chock full of basically awesome, if slightly dated in the details, designs, as well as hilarious ads for shag carpeting, and ads for Dansk pots that I have in my kitchen today. It was a blast see so many details that reminded me of current day groovy Adler rooms, or Hollywood Regency details. I’ll keep sharing these with you as I find them, and I promise to use the scanner next time (it’s raining cats and dogs, and my scanner is in the little shed next to my house).
