Trend Alert: Hands and Feet?
It seems hands and feet are popping up everywhere. First, there was the mysterious four-toed foot statue on Lost (how in the heck will they ever tie this back into the story? Or is it a red herring? Discuss here):
I featured this sidewalk foot statue a few days ago after seeing it in The New York Times:
In Domino Magazine:
Today in an email from Elsewheres, I saw this hand hook:
I’m picturing a long white hallway with rows of these hands seeming to emerge from the wall. Like a freaky haunted house gallery space. Too creepy for a bedroom, but kind of cool as towel hooks in the bathroom or as a sculptural installation in the hallway.
Then there are the porcelin glove molds from the always uber hip shop Victory Vintage:

Perhaps we should all be on the lookout for a new line of hand or Roman foot pots by Jonathan Adler next season? After all, he’s already tackled breasts and mustaches.

I wouldn’t be surprised! He has a large, roman-sandaled foot in white & gold in his house. I actually started noticing feet because of that (and again in that issue of Domino.). it’s in his book!

OH darn it, I read that book religiously and forgot the example there! Thanks Kirstin!

Yes, I find feet esp. creepy, no, correction, foot fans. You see, my main occupation is selling manolos and guccis and pradas and brian atwoods and roger vivier’s on eBay (becky740 y’all)!. and I can’t tell you how many foot fetishists write me and pretend to be potential buyers asking for picture s”oh, I”m not sure how this sexy 4″ heel looks on a foot, could you please send me a picture?” - No foot guy, well maybe if you send me $100 I will! Well, maybe, maybe not, depending on when the gas bill is due.
