Flickr Photo of the Week

I love this picture from one of my all-time flickr favorites and favorite bloggers, girl hula / hulaseventy. It looks like the suitcase you would pack when you were in third grade and were preparing to run away from home. I think it suits my current mood – I feel like getting the heck out of dodge and going to either the mountains or the beach this weekend. I keep feeling like it’s the weekend, but it’s only Wednesday and I’m antsy. Anyway, here Miss Hula is trying out her newKodak Duaflex and newly crafted TTV device, partnered with her unbelievable eye for great patterns, vintage goodies and composition.

hi,
i’m sure this is the same suitcase i used in junior high school. they were all the rage in the 70’s, then became so uncool. mine unfortunately went the way of all uncool things. my mom would collect our stuff for the thrift stores in our neighbourhood. i always wished we had had an attic where we could stash things we no longer used but still loved. having a super-practical mom is a disadvantage. i’m a collector and a memory hoarder, so anything belonging to my own kids is kept until they decide what they want to do with it. i loved girl hula’s photos. thanks for the suggestion.
cheers,

Hi Rosanne!
I think we had this one in pink, aqua and green – we kept our clothes for playing “dress up” in it, in the basement, which mostly consisted of my mom’s old nightgowns for some reason
You will get addicted to hula’s photos. There’s a whole blog post she did about making a red velvet cake that is better than any magazine spread I’ve ever seen. It’s wonderful!
