If you don’t want to get tempted into buying a whole pile of gorgeous design books, do not go over there! It started for me with Mid-Century Modern, a Holly rec, which then led me over to Fifties Furniture by Paul McCobb: Directional Designs, and after that it was Eichler: Modernism Rebuilds the American Dream. http://www.amazon.com/Fifties-Furniture-Paul-McCobb-Directional/dp/0764311395/sr=1-1/qid=1171394258/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-1518043-1261711?ie=UTF8&s=books

By the way, what is up with Amazon’s recommendation list? I added a Thornton Dial book to my wish list (outsider art) and based upon that, they recommended The Big Book of Breasts. Say what?!?!?!? It has a close up of a pair of triple-D’s in a lace strapless bra on the cover for Pete’s sake. For the most part, I enjoy looking through the recommendations, and I like that they tell me which of my picks led them to each rec. Unfortunately, the purchase of a book with Bridget Jones in the title and a J. Lo CD* are tainting all of my results with a bunch of bad chick lit books (is that redundant?) and Ricky Martin CDs.

*Yeah, I admit it. I bought a J. Lo C.D. I did it online for minimal embarrassment, as I was not about to go ask Spencer in Charlottesville to order it for me, but I gotta admit, I just love the J-to-the-L-O remixes. I like to rap along with Ja Rule and car-dance to it like an idiot. In fact, I’m thoroughly enjoying “Dancelife” on MTV, mostly because that Blake guy is so bitchy that it’s thoroughly entertaining. Before you judge me, take a good long look at your CD collection and I’m sure you’ll find one I can mock.

Great post! Love the book selection. You’re so right it is not safe to enter into that library. I just bought 4 books!
