We had the pleasure last week of visiting with rug designer Angela Adams over at the SF Design Center (a short walk from our office). Angela was in town to introduce her new tile collection for Ann Sacks tile.
Now, I’m no expert, but the tile is cool. She based her designs on the ones she’s used in her Studio Rug collection and handbag line. You can see some snapshots of the line and the reception in our latest Flickr set here.
The best part of Angela’s visit? Our trip to Alcatraz the following morning — we all enjoyed the audio tour and laughed when we locked Sina in a jail cell — followed by late afternoon crab cakes down near Fisherman’s Wharf, a cable car ride (Sina leaned off the right side and held on with one hand, Angela leaned off the left), and a walk over the Golden Gate. Good times!

Will you guys be carrying the tiles at some point? Or are they not in production yet? I am totally redoing my bathroom (pretty awful linoleum and wallpaper with lighthouses, yuck), and those tiles would look amazing in there.

That blue and white one would make a great kitchen backsplash. It would also make for one wacky bathroom. I love it! Does it come with a guide that won’t make my tile guy go blind or insane trying to figure out the pattern? I’ve seen that happen with much less complicated tile patterns than these!
