Sometimes I browse our site just to catch myself up on what’s new or to remind myself of cool products I should be pointing out here. Today I was checking out Erich Ginder’s Ghost Tree Coat Rack, and I found myself chuckling at the copy:
We know what you’re thinking: ‘How can I use my furniture to make a statement about industrialization and the rapid depletion of natural resources without having to buy an armchair made of cardboard?’
That’s from our witty and prolific copywriter, Jeff. He kills me. I thought I was kind of clever until I started reading his item descriptions – I don’t know where he gets this stuff.
But I digress. We had the Ghost Tree Coat Rack in our booth at The Downtown Show in New York and somehow it was striking and subtle at the same time. If you are like me and can manage to squeeze the life out of a cactus, it’s the perfect alternative to a live tree, and it collects a heck of a lot less dust than some awful silk or plastic tree. The ultimate bonus is that you can walk in the door and toss your coat at it without getting yelled at to pick up after yourself.
