I change my bedding design about once a year. Sometimes I buy new, sometimes I mix up what I already have, and sometimes just one new sham changes the whole look. These are all great pieces that lend themselves well to doing just that. There is so much great modern bedding to navigate on this site that I thought I’d list my Top Ten, in no particular order, except my current favorite at number one:
9) Fold’s Swoop Bedspread in Chartreuse Green and Brown Stitching
Emma Gardner’s Vertical Throw Blanket in Pink (BTW, this is a perfect wedding gift)
7) ElevenTwentyFive’s Chroma Cushions
6) Dwell Baby Bell’s Pear Crib Bedding
5) Denyse Schmidt’s Rugby Stripes Quilt in Espresso/Geranium
4) Variegated’s Branch Pillows in either Lavender or Orange
3) Inhabit’s Rhythm in Chocolate Duvet
2) Amenity’s Twig Duvet Cover (this has been all over the magazines lately – I love it!)
1) Area’s Flow Duvet and Shams (I am not sure if this pattern is very Feng Shui, but it is mind-blowing). This is my absolute must-have this season.
What’s your favorite?

I love your selections, it is so nice to have this breakdown all in one place. I hope you repeat next season!

Thanks so much Brandie! It was really fun to do, to tell you the truth. If I am not careful, I may wind up with an addiction to modern bedding that rivals my addiction to shoes, and I surely do not have the closet space for that!

[...] I know I listed Area’s Flow Duvet and Shams as my number one pick for bedding this spring, so I thought I’d point out a little more about Area’s current designs and history. I just love the clean and calming Scandinavian feel of Area’s designs, and I had the opportunity to meet founder Anki Spets at ICFF. We’ve printed an interview with her in our blog — it’s very revealing. Everything from Art Nouveau to 1960’s textiles, from the Swedish landscape to experience in shoe design continue to influence her, and it shows. Her attitude toward trends and following her own path, whether it leads toward the mainstream or in the opposite direction, is the driving force behind such trend-resilient, comforting designs. [...]
