Jenny is a graphic designer and marketing coordinator working at a firm in Boston. She likes the Red Sox, her Nikon D70 camera, and the color pink. Her claim to fame? She’s the author of Alleyesonjenny.com — a blog featuring some interesting graphic and photo techniques. She recently chronicled her bedroom redesign, which featured Design Public products (the Pablo Elise lamp and Offi Overlap tray) combined with a slew of stuff from Ikea.

1) Which one of your pieces is your favorite?

I have to pick just one?! I love the overall look of my newly redesigned space, but if I had to pick the best buy?Äö I’d have to go with the shelving. It’s amazing how much you can open up a room by bringing a few things up off a desk and giving the eye something vertical to focus on.

2) How did you discover the Pablo lamp?

Part of my day job is doing a bit of event planning. While scoping out different hotels to host my company’s annual holiday shin-dig, I fell in love with the lighting design at one of Boston’s newer, modern hotels.

After seeing what a difference some good lighting can make, I knew wanted to include some hip, but practical lighting in my room/workspace redesign. A quick search later, I found the Pablo Elise. It wasn’t the exact same lighting as I saw in the hotel — but it was better suited to my taste. I also discovered the Pablo had a dimmer switch (my favorite feature!) and fell even more in love.

[NOTE: We loved the photos that Jenny took of her lamp SO much we added them to the Elise product page. Thanks Jenny!]

3) Be honest – where do you do more work, at your workstation or on your bed with your Offi tray?

I don’t have very much living space. To describe it as ‘cozy’ is being generous, so for a long time the Overlap Tray WAS my workstation. But a couple of months ago, I decided to go back to school for a few art/design classes and it became painfully obvious that I needed a real workspace to spread out projects and materials. While lately I’ve been spending more and more time at my desk doing school-related work, I still prefer to do more casual work snuggled up in bed with my Offi tray.
